CSI/RAT Theatre Camp
July 8 - 12, 2013
Hey, kids, want to go to the one summer camp where you’ll learn how to use stage makeup to give yourself (or somebody else) bruises, gashes, and old man wrinkles? Do you want to learn how to swing a sword, take a fake punch, and fall without getting hurt? How about spending your mornings building and decorating an entire room while learning how to speak like an Englishman or a Southern Belle in the afternoon? All of this and more is available in the week-long adventure that is CSI Theatre Camp! Theatre Camp is for youth ages 10-18 of all skill and experience levels who are interested in learning more about what goes into a play (on stage and behind the scenes) in a hands-on environment. We would love to have you join us if you have been in theatre for years or just want to learn what it’s all about and have a little bit of fun! The camp will consist of age-appropriate breakaway classes such as stage makeup, set construction, stage lighting, stage combat, acting, audition preparation, musical theatre and more! On the last day of camp, students will showcase their work by putting on a play for friends and family. Note: There will also be more advanced classes for those students who took the camp last year who want to build on what they learned!
Early Bird Registration (postmarked by June 17) is $150. Registration after June 17 is $180. Registration deadline is July 3. Students will need to bring a lunch with them. There will be a pizza party for the students the last afternoon of camp before the final production, which will be at 5:30 p.m. on Friday, July 12 in the CSI Fine Arts Theatre. The camp will run from 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, July 8 – 12 in the CSI Fine Arts Center. For more information or to obtain a registration form for the camp, call 732-6288 or e-mail cbarigar@csi.edu.
